In areas where evacuation orders have been lifted, living conditions have improved for residents to return. Recovery work is 99% complete. The Soma-Fukushima road on the Tohoku-Chuo expressway has been opened.

Efforts are underway to improve the brand strength of Fukushima’s agricultural, forestry and fishery products by thoroughly inspecting them for radioactive substances, aiming for the top spot for Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification – proof of product safety and quality. The “Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework”, aimed at creating new industries, is progressing steadily.

A decade after the earthquake, a museum passing on the memories of the disaster to future generations has been built and the structural remains related to the disaster have been kept in place for preservation.

The video conveys “Fukushima Now” which continues to challenge and move forward into a new future.
