The production version of the Avinya EV is expected to hit the market by 2025.
Tata Motors has unveiled the Avinya concept. It also launches the brand’s Gen 3 EV architecture.
According to the company, the name “Avinya” is derived from the Sanskrit language and means “Innovation”. The Gen 3 platform will spawn a new family of electric vehicles and the production version of the Avinya is expected to hit the market by 2025.
The Avinya concept would be inspired by a catamaran. Its design is a fusion of a premium sedan, SUV and minivan. The car features Tata’s new brand identity as part of the daytime running lights. It also features gullwing doors and a futuristic two-tone interior made from durable materials.
The Pure EV Gen 3 architecture would offer next-generation connectivity and advanced driver assistance systems. Tata claims that the global platform offers high structural security and offers better protection against water and dust.
The architecture is built using next-generation materials, electronics as well as Tata’s own energy management system. The battery will support ultra-fast charging, estimated at 500 km of range in less than 30 minutes.
