NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – Nashville residents should expect to see delays in their trash pickup this week.

Metro Water Services officials said their contractor, Red River, “fallen behind in garbage collection.” As a result, customers should expect a one to two day delay this week.

On Tuesday, Metro Water Services officials said they would travel three of the Red River routes each day. The move is “to help ensure collection is complete by Saturday.”

This announcement comes as nearly all of Metro’s front-loading trucks were out of service. Plus, they can’t get the right parts for repairs due to supply chain issues caused by COVID.

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – Community members in Davidson County said Tuesday they were encountering an overwhelming amount of litter.
