Ram’s roads to avoid this week in the ‘Boro

(MURFREESBORO) Snow and ice mixed with sunshine, an interesting combination to challenge motorists in the area over the coming week. Murfreesboro Transportation deputy director Ram Balachandran warns of areas to avoid between now and January 15, 2022.

City construction projects

Demolition work on the old Pinnacle building (N Maple St to W College St)

No lane closure planned: Monday to Friday: site construction work continues. There will be slight traffic disruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Oakland Court Development (Lokey Ave and Academy St)

Planned Road Closures: Monday-Friday: As part of Oakland Court development, Academy Street will be closed to through traffic between Palm Ct and Hembree St. Lokey Ave will also be closed at Academy St. site are continuing. Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be put in place.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Sidewalk Improvement Project (SE Broad St and Middle Tennessee Blvd)

Planned lane closures: Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Construction crews will install sidewalk and traffic light improvements along the north side of Mercury Boulevard. Westbound traffic between Middle Tennessee Blvd and SE Broad will be reduced from two lanes to one lane. Eastbound traffic will not be affected. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Public works department Mulching and landscaping works

  1. Middle Tennessee Blvd between Main St and Mercury Blvd

Planned lane closures: Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m .: The city’s public works contractor will mulch along Middle Tennessee Boulevard between Greenland Drive and Mercury Boulevard. Traffic will be reduced to one-lane southbound traffic on Middle Tennessee Boulevard between Greenland Drive and Mercury Boulevard. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

  1. Pkwy Medical Center between Warren St and I-24

Planned lane closures: Monday to Wednesday, weather permitting, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m .: The city’s public works contractor will mulch along Medical Center Pkwy between Warren St and I-24. Traffic will be reduced to one lane westbound then eastbound on Medical Center Pkwy between Warren St and I-24. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

AT&T Underground Utility Works (Sergio Avenue near Kuchar Ct)

Planned Track Closures: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m .: AT&T crews will install underground fiber optic lines on Sergio Dr near Kuchar Ct. There will be track closures and interruptions to circulation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Annual city street paving projects

Planned lane closures: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m .: The municipal contractor will carry out construction work on the following streets:

  1. Saint Andrews Dr to Saint Bernard Way (construction of a box bridge)
  2. Ave Bilbro between Minor St and Castle St (storm sewer repair work)

Expect lane changes and traffic disruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY SR266

Leveling, drainage, construction of two concrete T-beam bridges, signals and paving on SR 266 (Jefferson Pike) from SR 102 (LM 5.0) east of I-840 (LM 9).

  • Every day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., There will be periodic marking operations along SR 266 for construction activities.
