Here is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work that the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned for northern Missouri for the week of July 18-24.

All road closures and planned road works can be viewed on the travel information map.

Bad weather may cause schedule changes in some of the scheduled work. There may also be moving operations throughout the region, in addition to the works mentioned below.

Andre County

Route M – Route 48 to US Route 169 Resurfacing Project near Union Star through July (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

Route K – I-29 North Amazon to US Route 59 Resurfacing Project in St. Joseph, Buchanan County through August. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

Route F – Repair potholes from Route V to County Road 253, July 18

Atchison County

Route 111 – FIRM for a bridge rehabilitation project at the Interstate 29 bridge through July. A signposted diversion is in place. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc)

I-29 – Nishnabotna River Bridge Replacement Project (Mile 122 – 124) through August. Traffic is head-to-head in the northbound lanes. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)

US Route 136 – Bridge deck repair over Rock Creek south of exit 107, July 18-22. The bridge will be reduced to a 24-hour lane with a 12-foot width restriction. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.)

Buchanan County

US Route 36 – CLOSED RAMP as part of a bridge rehabilitation project. The ramp connecting US Route 36 eastbound to Route 759 (Stockyards Expressway) will remain closed until July. (Contractor: Comanche Construction, Inc.)

US Route 36 – Westbound resurfacing project from east of AC Road to east of Taylor Road (DeKalb County) through July. (Contractor: Magruder Paving, LLC)

US Route 36 – Missouri River Bridge Rehabilitation Project through November. One lane is closed in each direction with a 12 foot width restriction. (Contractor: Comanche Construction, Inc.)

Route K – I-29 North Amazon to US Route 59 Resurfacing Project in St. Joseph, Buchanan County through August. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

I-29 – Southbound concrete replacement from milepost 45.6 to milepost 46.4, July 18-20, 6 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. The road will be reduced to a 24-hour lane.

I-29 – CLOSED RAMP for concrete replacement. The ramp connecting southbound I-29 to eastbound U.S. Route 36 will be closed 24 hours a day, July 18-20

US Route 36 – CLOSED RAMP for concrete replacement. The ramp connecting westbound US Route 36 to southbound I-29 will be closed 24 hours a day, July 18-20

Caldwell County

I-35 – Resurfacing project just north of exit 52 in Cameron (Clinton County) to U.S. Route 69 (exit 68, Daviess County), through mid-August. The road will be reduced to one lane around repair sites and paving operations, including some 24-hour single-lane closures. A 12ft width restriction is in place. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

Carroll County

Route Z – FIRM for a landslide repair project from Route C to County Road 217, until mid-August. (Contractor: Mera Excavating, LLC)

Route E – FIRM for a bridge replacement project at the Turkey Creek Bridge, between Route D and Route PP, until July. (Contractor: Mera Excavating, LLC)*

Course V – FIRM for a bridge replacement project at the Miami Station Branch Bridge through mid-September. (Contractor: Gene Haile Excavating, Inc.)*

Route B – FIRM for patching potholes on U.S. Route 24 to U.S. Route 65, July 18-22, 6 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily

Chariton County

Road DD – FIRM for pavement rehabilitation from Route O to Route D, July 18 and 19, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily

Route 136 – Maintenance of the bridge at the Stanley Lake Bridge, July 18-28. The bridge will be reduced to one lane

Road DD – FIRM for road repairs from Route D to Route 129, July 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Clinton County

I-35 – Resurfacing project just north of exit 52 in Cameron to U.S. Route 69 (exit 68, Daviess County), through mid-August. The road will be reduced to one lane around repair sites and paving operations, including some 24-hour single-lane closures. A 12ft width restriction is in place. US Route 69 – FIRM for a project to improve the intersection of route 116 at 251st Street until September.

Route 116 – US Route 69 Intersection Improvement Project through September.

  • No access to US Route 69 south of intersection until completion of project.
  • No access to US Route 69 north of the intersection and no access to Route 116 from US Route 69 in either direction until July.
  • Traffic on Route 116 will be diverted to a single-lane bypass until early August. Temporary traffic lights are in place.

Daviess County

I-35 – U.S. Route 69 (Exit 68) resurfacing project to north of Exit 52 in Cameron, Clinton County, through mid-August. DeKalb County

Gentry County

Route B – FIRM for a bridge replacement project of 257e Street at 245e Street at Grantham Creek Bridge, through August.

Route NN – FIRM for culvert replacement from NE 70e Street at NE 72n/a Street, July 18, 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Harrison County

Route A – FIRM for a bridge rehabilitation project on I-35 until September.

I-35 – Bridge Rehabilitation Project at Pole Cat Creek Bridge at Mile 90, south of Bethany, through October. A 12 foot width restriction is in place.

M course – FIRM for a culvert replacement from Utah Avenue to Route EE (Harrison County), July 20, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Holt County

U.S. Route 59 – FIRM under I-29 for a bridge deck replacement project through August. Access to the I-29/US Route 59 interchange at Exit 92 near Craig will be affected.

I-29 – Bridge deck replacement project through August. Interstate traffic is being redirected to the on-ramps at Exit 92 to bypass bridge reconstruction.

US Route 159 – Bridge Rehabilitation Project at Big Lake Overflow Bridge, west of Route 111, through July. Traffic will be reduced to one lane at the bridge, with temporary traffic lights and a 13ft width restriction in place.

US Route 159 – Pavement Improvement and Flood Remediation Project from the Missouri River to Little Tarkio Creek near Fortescue, and from Route 111 north of Forest City to the Little Tarkio River, through December. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)

Route 111 – FIRM for a pavement improvement and flood remediation project from US Route 159 to just north of the crossing at the south end of Big Lake, through July. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)

Route C- FIRM for a culvert replacement from Route N to Route DD, July 18 and 19, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily

Road N- FIRM for a culvert replacement from US Route 59 to Route HH, July 20, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Livingstone County

US Route 36 – Resurfacing project eastbound from Route C to Parson’s Creek, just above the Linn County line, and westbound from Parson’s Creek to Coon Creek, through October. US Route 36 will remain open during the project, but one lane may be closed in either direction. Single lane closures may remain in place 24 hours a day. Some entrance/exit ramps may close during resurfacing. Advance notice will be provided for all ramp closures. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

Route C- Closed until further notice at Shoal Creek Bridge due to deterioration. A bridge replacement project is currently planned to be part of MoDOT’s November 2022 lease.

Mercer County

Route D- FIRM for a Sandy Creek Bridge rehabilitation project until the end of August.

Nodaway County

US Route 136 – FIRM at the Long Branch Bridge, east of Maryville, until August. A signposted diversion is in place.

Road N- FIRM for Iowa State Line culvert replacement at U.S. Route 136, July 18-22, 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. daily

Sullivan County

Route 129 – FIRM for bridge maintenance over Spring Creek, Key Road to Kempwood Road, July 18, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Route U – FIRM for a culvert replacement from Route C to Shelby Road, July 18, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 129 – FIRM for bridge maintenance at the bridge over North Spring Creek from AB Road to Harris Drive, July 19, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
