Project description: A primary school building without a gymnasium? This issue is on track to be corrected before the next school year at Schofield Primary School in the Republic School District, where construction of a gymnasium and high wind shelter is about 40% complete. . According to the district’s construction update website, the prefabricated panels are in place, the underground rough is completed, and the main concrete slab floor is in place. Next: masonry walls, hallway wall framing, roofing and electrical installation, the website says. Republic school officials say they anticipate an influx of 500 new students over the next three years as the community grows. Voters passed a $ 16 million bond issue on April 6 to pay for the Schofield Primary School project, as well as a new early childhood center, currently 30% complete, and the purchase of ‘land to build a new school in about four years.
