FM Nirmala Sitharaman urges Indian Diaspora to become partners in the country’s growth


Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has urged India’s diaspora to become partners in the country’s growth over the next 25 years as it reaches 100 years of independence.

Addressing the Indian community in Silicon Valley, San Francisco Bay Area, she highlighted rural contributions to innovation and research.

“FM Smt. @nsitharaman highlighted the outstanding contribution of the Indian Diaspora to the United States, especially their role in innovation and research. FM also spoke about the structural reforms undertaken by the Indian government and urged the community to become partners in India’s growth during the Amrit Kaal,” a tweet from the finance ministry said on Sunday.

India’s journey to achieve 100 years of independence from its 75th year of independence has been called Amrit Kaal. The Minister of Finance is traveling to the United States to attend the 2022 Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank.
