East Valley Homeowners Say Fake Contractor Took Money For Barn Doors And Vanished

VALLEY EAST (3TV/CBS 5) — 3 On Your Side wanted to chat with a guy named Tim Anderson for a while, and we finally found him. “Tim! Tim! Stop and talk to me,” 3 On Your Side’s Gary Harper shouted as the fake entrepreneur tried to get away. He kept driving and eventually pulled over for traffic. But he wouldn’t roll down his window. “Can I talk to you?” Harper said. “You owe a lot of people a lot of money.

Crystal Primrose says she is just one victim who says Anderson and her company, Woodwork AZ, took money to make and install barn doors and got nothing for their money. “Looking back, there were a lot of red flags.”

Well, that’s Anderson, seen here on this doorbell video. According to Crystal, he took $950 as a down payment to start building barn doors to hang here in his home office. But he disappeared with the money. “I contacted you because I want my money back,” Crystal said. “And to warn the other inhabitants of the valley that he may take advantage of you.”

After 3 On Your Side got involved, we discovered other viewers who say that when Anderson finished a job, his job was horrible. Take a look at how he attached these table legs to a spectator’s table. When Anderson delivered the table, the spectator refused to pay, causing Anderson, who you can’t see behind the column, to get aggressive with the owner. “Let’s go (expletive). Let’s go. Come on, I’ll (expletive) get you up, man. You owe me money. I’m going to take you to court, you (expletive),” Anderson shouted at the owner.

When we first went to Anderson’s carpentry shop looking for answers. He wasn’t there at the time, but we found this woman outside claiming to be his employee. “What are you doing for him?” Harper asked him. She replied, “I am his partner. Harper then asked, “Partner? What type of partner? “I’m his right hand man,” she replied, claiming she helps him make barn doors. She even offered to take 3 On Your Side to the store. And although we saw wood, we found very few barn doors or other finished products.

3 On Your Side started leaving, and that’s when we found Anderson who introduced himself and then quickly left after seeing our camera. “If you roll down your window, maybe we can have a productive conversation,” Harper said. After lowering the window a few inches, Anderson asked, “Who are you? After Harper identified himself again, Anderson moved up the window.

Crystal says she’s not surprised to see Anderson run away from 3 On Your Side and hopes no one else pays him for carpentry work. Meanwhile, she says those barn doors in her office were made and installed by a reputable carpenter she hired after Anderson disappeared with her money. Crystal says that from now on she will always research a contractor‘s background and will not hand over any money up front. “Yes, I will make sure to tell everyone my story which I know too.”

Anderson has at least one unlicensed contract conviction, and the Arizona Registrar of Contractors says it is currently investigating three other complaints. If there is an update I will let you know.
