Current phase of construction: Excavation and foundation:

  • Noisy work is expected most days during this construction phase
  • The excavation and foundation are expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2022

What happens over the next two weeks:

  • Daytime utility work will begin on Broadway pending permit approvals. The works will involve the contractor cutting and ripping the street to install the building’s new utility connections (for future water and sanitary facilities) using jackhammers, a road saw and a backhoe. A dump truck will be used to remove the material.
  • The foundation works of the northern perimeter are in progress
  • Installation of ground plugs which includes the drilling of metal sleeves and the injection of concrete
  • Installation of a dewatering system including well points using drills
  • Concrete trucks will be used to install the ejection pits, elevator pit and carpet slabs
  • Installation of underground utilities for the building has begun
  • The excavator will be used to complete the grading and site cleanup

Studebaker building facade repair and roof replacement

  • Preparation of rebar and installation of concrete patches on the east elevation continues
  • Terra cotta repairs will begin at the South and South West corner parapet wall for the next 3 weeks
